Questions people often ask

Why does Wagging Pet Travel refuse pet sedation for air travel?

In strict accordance with IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR) and veterinary medicine standards, tranquilizers and sedatives are dangerous during flight. At cruising altitudes, sedatives lower blood pressure and can cause severe respiratory distress or impaired balance. Instead, we use natural calming pheromones, familiar scented blankets, and prior crate acclimation.

What documents are required for Domestic pet travel across Indonesia?

For domestic travel, your pet typically requires: (1) An active Pet Health Book with up-to-date Rabies vaccination (at least 30 days prior to travel), (2) Surat Keterangan Kesehatan Hewan (SKKH) issued by an authorized veterinarian, and (3) Surat Rekomendasi Pemasukan/Pengeluaran from local government livestock services. Our team assists with complete document preparation!

What does my pet need to travel into Indonesia?

A valid rabies vaccination (given more than 30 days and less than a year before travel), a rabies titer test (RNATT), and a health certificate from the country of origin. After arrival, pets stay in quarantine in Indonesia for around 14 days.

What is the difference between Pet Cargo and Hand Carry?

With Pet Cargo, your pet travels alone, without the owner. With Hand Carry, your pet travels together with the owner.

How do I know what size travel crate my dog or cat needs?

The IATA rule states that your pet must be able to stand upright without their head or ears touching the roof, turn around completely inside the crate, and lie down in a natural position. Use our interactive IATA Crate Calculator on the Dimension page for exact recommendations!

Can two pets travel in the same crate?

Under IATA guidelines, only two compatible adult pets of similar size (up to 14 kg each) who are accustomed to cohabitation may share a crate on certain routes, or a mother with weaned offspring. For maximum comfort and safety, individual crates are strongly recommended.
